Jewel Orchid - Anoectochilus chapensis
Anoectochilus chapensis is a species of terrestrial orchid, commonly called a Jewel Orchid, that grows along the forest floor. Jewel orchids get their common name from their beautiful foliage. Unlike most orchids, Jewel orchids are grown for their incredible foliage instead of their flowers. The dark velvety leaves of Jewel orchids are usually adorned with vibrant streaks or patterns that run down the leaf.
Most Jewel Orchids are very easy orchid to grow! These orchids make great terrarium plants and prefer humidity levels between 60-90%. Keep the substrate moist at all times but not soaking. Maintain low to moderate light levels (500 - 1500 fc) and temperatures between 75-85 Degrees.
